From the owner of the bag: “I stupidly left it in my car around 6pm to walk the dog (parked outside the pubs opp the Cricket club) and someone was obviously watching me and smashed the boot window and took it when I was out of sight.”
Concerns have been expressed by local residents regarding activity on the site of the former Scout Hut in Botley Road where land was cleared on 13th February.
Chiltern District Council is monitoring the situation and appropriate notices have now been served.
These notices are in addition to the work undertaken by the Planning and Environmental Health Departments. They are liaising with the Forestry Commission, the Health & Safety Executive and the Environment Agency, plus the Police on 101, who are aware of the issue and have a relevant contact number for emergency action if something significant occurs, e.g. heavy machinery, HGVs etc. arrive on site.
So all who should be aware are aware.
If there is an attempt to burn the old trees and brushwood on site, please call the fire brigade on 999. If you have any other concerns, please email Chiltern District at firstname.lastname@example.org
